Following measures from Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb and the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) to limit the spread of the novel coronavirus and COVID-19, the Indiana Commission for Higher Education is adhering to guidance but will continue to maintain operations, including the financial aid support center, which Hoosiers can reach by calling (888) 528-4719 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Guidance & FAQs
As Indiana continues to monitor the evolving outbreak of the novel coronavirus and COVID-19, the Commission has prepared guidance for institutions of higher education to ensure they have preparedness measures in place to handle this evolving situation. The Commission will continue to publish ongoing updates, as new directives are shared by Gov. Holcomb and ISDH.

Summer Support Grant
During this unprecedented time of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Indiana Commission for Higher Education (Commission) in partnership with the Indiana GEAR UP program is seeking college/university and community partners to support the high school graduating class of 2020 as they transition into college. Due to school closures and a transition to online learning, students are far more likely to experience learning loss that leaves them less prepared for success in college.
To help combat this “learning slump,” the ICHE has available grant funds of up to $100,000 to connect and fund programs catered to this population. The Summer 2020 Covid-19 Learning Support Grant applications must be submitted to Grants@che.in.gov by 5 p.m. (Eastern) on June 5, 2020. Only electronic submissions will be accepted.
Resources for Students and Families
The Commission is actively gathering resources and guidance for students and families regarding digital access, financial assistance and financial aid. Visit LearnMoreIndiana.org/students-families/COVID-19 for ongoing updates and additions.
Parents of K-12 students are encouraged to utilize resources on LearnMoreIndiana.org, including classroom materials, and resources for students and families (with suggestions for each age group) and Indiana’s 21st Century Scholars. The Learn More Indiana blog will also be updated with helpful information for students learning in a virtual environment.
