If you would like to request a refund of an administrative penalty that was assessed on a vehicle title, registration, or credential between July 1 and September 1, 2020, please fill out and submit the form linked below. Credit card transaction fees applied during checkout in myBMV or paid as part of an automated phone transaction on or after July 1, 2020 are not eligible for a refund.
Pursuant to Ind. Code § 9-33-3-1(c), if the BMV denies your refund request, it must issue a decision containing a statement outlining the reasons for any part of the refund that is denied. If a denial is issued, the decision and reasons will be mailed to the address provided.
If all or part of your refund request is granted, a check will be mailed to you from the state Auditor.
Refund requests for any other reason will not be considered if submitted through the form liked above. If you would like to request a refund for any other reason, please complete Application for Refund of Certain Fees – State Form 56165.
