Real ID Documents Checklist

If you are applying for a new driver’s license, permit, or identification card, you are required to obtain a Real ID and must bring the appropriate documents to a license branch.

Customers who are renewing, amending, or replacing their current Indiana driver’s license, permit, or identification card are also asked to bring original versions or certified copies of documents so they can obtain a new Real ID credential.

Find out which documents you need to bring when you visit a license branch by completing the Real ID document checklist. This checklist will provide you with a full list of documents that meet the Real ID requirements. You will be able to create a printable checklist of the documents that you have available. You will also be able to learn more about what to do if you do not have a required document.

U.S. citizens with a current Indiana driver’s license or identification card, who are having difficulty collecting their documents, can apply for a non-compliant driver's license or identification card in order to drive or vote. Foreign nationals living in Indiana must bring their documents to a license branch in order to get a new, renewed, amended, or duplicate Real ID credential.
