The Accounting and Reporting Department is responsible for creating and maintaining the state's general ledger and centralized accounting system. They prepare and publish reports regarding state fund balances and federal expenditures along with approving general ledger transactions and overseeing the record of state assets. In addition, the department:
- Researches and validates all documents used in the state accounting system.
- Creates and publishes the state's Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR), which is the official report of the state's financial position.
- Implements new Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) pronouncements for the state.
