Title & Lien Search Help

For information regarding the Drivers Privacy Protection Act, see IC 9-14-3.5

There are three ways to search for a title: (1) Title Number (2) Vehicle Year, Make and VIN or (3) Social Security Number. You may supply one or more of these search parameters. If you supply more than one set of parameters the search will be performed in the following order:

  1. Title Number
  2. Vehicle Year, Make and VIN
  3. Social Security Number

The record returned will always be for the first match found. For instance, suppose a search is performed using both a the title number and a Social Security number. If the title number matches an existing record in the database, that record will be returned. It is important to remember that even if the Social Security number supplied was incorrect or for a different person, the search will still return the record for the title number you supplied. The search parameters that were actually used to complete the search will be printed at the bottom of each record.
