Indiana Territory Frontiersman, Chain O'Lakes State Park
Start Date: 9/21/2019Start Time: 2:00 PM
End Date: 9/21/2019
Event Description:
Chain O'Lakes State Park is proud to announce another great series of historical performances this summer...

"Indiana Territory Frontiersman", performed by Kevin Stonerock, is an entertaining, informative, and interactive theatrical performance designed to engage the audience and give them a better understanding of a true-to-life frontiersman of the Indiana Territory.

Kevin will present a first person characterization of an Indiana Territory Frontiersman in the year 1810. The program centers around the life of Andrew Amonett, a true-to-life frontiersman of the Indiana Territory. The presentation, complete with tall tales, deals with various aspects of frontier life and dangers faced in the Indiana Territory just prior to the War of 1812. Topics include trapping, militia service, Indian affairs, tools, weapons and frontier clothing.

This program is made possible through the support of the Indiana Arts Commission in cooperation with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. Chain O'Lakes was chosen specifically because of the region's rich heritage and vital connection to events taking place during the time period being portrayed. If you visited us last summer Kevin performed the 18th Century Fur Trader. For more information about this artist please visit

*The same performance will take place on five separate dates in the summer and fall of 2019 at Chain O'Lakes State Park at the historic Stanley Schoolhouse at 2 pm. Please bring a lawn chair or blanket for this performance. Dates include: June 22nd, July 20th, August 24th, September 21st, & October 19th.
