About this trip idea

On nearly any summer weekend, you'll find at least one festival happening in Indiana, complete with bright lights, comfort foods and exciting entertainment. Spice up your summer at festivals honoring the history, heritage and unique qualities of Eastern Indiana.

Did you know...fine arts are waiting to be discovered?
In June, discover the finer things in life at Charley Creek Arts Fest   in Wabash. Enjoy festive music, dramatic performances and fine art in the beautiful Charley Creek Gardens, magnificent Honeywell Center, charming Charley Creek Inn and historic Dr. James Ford Home. This cultural experience lasts for six days and includes a film fest, classical concerts by renowned musicians, a gallery walk, fine art show and more.

Did you know...Peru is the Circus Capital of the World?
The city boasts circus history dating back to the 1800s, an amateur circus of more than 200 performers and the International Circus Hall of Fame. Each July, Peru celebrates its heritage at Circus City Festival  . Tumblers, acrobats, trapeze artists and high wire acts amaze kids and adults alike at 10 circus performances. Get up close to clowns, calliopes and wild animals at the Circus Heritage Parade! Laugh out loud on an amusement ride or enjoy carnival games and foods at this fun-filled event.

Did you know...the state's second largest festival is in Fort Wayne?
Pack up the family for a July weekend of excitement at Three Rivers Festival   in Fort Wayne's Headwaters Park. Bring your competitive spirit with you - hop on a bed with wheels for the bed race down Main Street, or grab a water balloon or canoe to compete in the legendary RiverGames. Experience ethnic foods, crafts and dances in International Village or select beautiful pieces of fine art at Art in the Park.

Did you arts are a part of Indiana's heritage?
Home to two premier art-glass factories, Elwood honors its local craft each August with the Elwood Glass Festival   - but you'll find more than beautifully crafted, hand-blown glass art at this event. Kids get up close to unusual animals at the exotic petting zoo or munch cotton candy and get dizzy on the Scrambler in the midway. Check out the Vintage Roller Cars Show or take a bus tour to Elwood's attractions, including New Day Meadery and the historic Elwood Opera House. A series of exciting concerts by local talent wrap up each evening.

Did you can see more than 300 classic cars in Auburn?
It's all about cars at the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival   on Labor Day weekend. See 120 cars from the local Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum, the oldest of which date back to 1894. Check out 200 more classic cars from the collections of local automobile enthusiasts at the Downtown Cruise-In or Parade of Classics. Add vintage airplanes to your list of "must-sees" and stop by the Aviation and Autovation Fair. Find a treasure at the Auburn Fall Auction or Classic Collection Booksale, which offer an incredible collection of classic car memorabilia and books.

Did you know...marshmallows are made in Indiana?
End the summer with sticky, sweet deliciousness at the Ligonier Marshmallow Festival  . Enjoy family fun with crafts, amusement rides, a car show, petting zoo, tractor pull, concerts and more. Let comedians and magicians entertain you and get in the spirit of the festival at the Marshmallow Games or Marshmallow Bake-Off - and don't forget to eat some marshmallows!
