About this trip idea

Allow 1-2 days.

Visitors can cruise Kosciusko County's 100+ lakes in speedboats and on jet skis, but there is so much more fun and entertainment to be had on dry land in the area’s quaint towns full of antique, art and food emporiums.

Take a Baking Break
The lure of fresh-baked pastries and bread will have you coming back for seconds after visiting the 1000 Park Baking Company  in Winona Lake. Take a break from shopping at the surrounding galleries and shops to indulge in specialty pizza, sandwiches, soups and salads - each entrée made from locally-grown produce. Winona Lake’s own Hoosier Mama Cookies are sold to satisfy the sweet tooth as a delightful dessert.

Artsy Antiquities
The antique and vintage findings at the Blue Pearl Fine Estate Jewelry & Antiques  in Pierceton are all unique to Indiana and its individual style. This one-stop shop specializes in a matchless blend of treasures, specializing in Hoosier artists who create landscapes, Native American art, pop art, sculptures, photography, metal works and wood furniture. Each decade is represented throughout the store with some items dating back all the way to the 1800’s.

A Stroll Through History
Dating back to 1897, the Chinworth Bridge in Warsaw  provides the starting point of this walk through history over the Tippecanoe River as well as a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Bicyclists, joggers and walkers alike will enjoy this two-mile asphalt stretch that connects to two additional historic bridges along the way. Picnic areas are available along the beaten path as well as the opportunity to canoe or kayak down the calm, alluring Tippecanoe River.

Delectable Designs

Uniqueness is an understatement when describing Pierceton’s Purr-fectly Unique Design Studio & Boutique . Artist Susan Karczewski takes everyday objects and transfers them into one-of-a-kind jewelry, using anything from vintage buttons to clay. Select from Susan’s collection of original aprons, wall art and lawn sculptures made from artisans around the area. Be sure not to miss out on Susan’s weekly two-hour classes during the summer to learn new skills to make your own creations or watch other artists at work.
