About this trip idea

Visit the Red Skelton Museum and laugh along with Freddie, Clem and the rest in this 5,000-square-foot, fully interactive museum themed for adults and children alike to enjoy. The museum honors and presents a look into Red's career and recalls other great comedians of the past.

Just a few short blocks away, visit Grouseland, the home of William Henry Harrison Mansion, the governor of the Indiana Territory from 1803-1812. Harrison later became the ninth U.S. President of the United States. Grouseland was the setting for Harrison's negotiations with American Indian leaders including Shawnee leader Tecumseh.

At the Vincennes State Historic Sites, you can tour the Territorial Capitol where Harrison governed and see a replica of the Jefferson Academy. At the Elihu Stout Print Shop you can view an authentic Ramage press used by Elihu Stout when he published Indiana's first newspaper in 1804, the Indiana Gazette.

Take a break and enjoy a meal at PeaFections, a favorite among locals and visitors. This restaurant features soups, salads and sandwiches, but don't forget to save room for one of their famous desserts!

End your day with a tour of the Indiana Military Museum, one of the best comprehensive collections of military artifacts in the Midwest, spanning the Civil War through current military engagements. View outstanding displays outside of tanks, artillery and aircraft and, inside, see showcases of uniforms worn by generals, battlefield relics and more.
