The complete Series I of Kennedy’s 22 chromogenic, Warhol’s Flowers, debuts at Conrad Indianapolis in June. The series will be on display in the lobby through Summer 2012. At the time of this impromptu photo shoot in a field of black-eyed Susans in Queens, Warhol was preparing for his first solo exhibition of Flowers at the legendary Leo Castelli Gallery. With his newly completed, unstretched Flowers painting serving as a makeshift backdrop, this series of photographs conveys a side to Warhol rarely seen by the public.
