Nappanee Apple Festival

One of the largest and tastiest apple pies in the world, this 7-foot apple pie weighs in at more than 600 pounds. The Nappanee Apple Festival is located in Nappanee, Indiana (Elkhart County) and held on the third weekend of September each year. During the 3½ day festival there are many attractions for all ages to enjoy including live entertainment on two stages, carnival rides, over 100 craft and 50 commercial booths, 20 food vendors, and a huge parade with an airplane flyover on Saturday morning. Other events include a 5K road run, half marathon, apple pie eating and apple peeling contests, goldfish races, wings & wheels show (cars and airplanes), tractor pull, farm tractor and antique farm equipment show, napple baking contest, kids & adult pedal pull contests, talent show, and a scholarship pageant. Of course you won't want to miss the popular Napple Store with fresh baked apple dumplings, apple pie, apple butter, apple cider, apple fritter bread, apple turnovers, homemade applesauce and much more!
