The Switzerland County Farmers and Artisans Marketplace opens March 15, 2014 for its second season. The event will take place each Saturday until seasonal closing is announced. The market showcases baked and prepared goods and other agricultural items raised, grown, and produced by participating vendors from Switzerland and adjacent counties. Crafts and artisan products made and produced locally are also featured. The Marketplace is located in the Markland Business Park in Florence, Indiana.
Farmers markets provide valuable marketing opportunities and low barriers of entry for farmers and artisans. The Marketplace allows smaller-scale farmers and producers to enjoy a local outlet for their production and adds another venue for the community to purchase locally grown produce, prepared foods and other agricultural items from local vendors.
Throughout the 2014 season the Marketplace plans to showcase various musicians, cooking demonstrations, and various other events. For additional information, contact (812) 599-7205 or (812) 594-2050 or via
