HEIRLOOM TOMATO FESTIVAL INVITES PATSY CLINE AUGUST 17!
August 17th is the sixth annual Heirloom Tomato Festival in downtown Pierceton. Ms Patricia Knott created a festival with a hands on atmosphere that provides education on the foods we actually are eating. The event is planned with free, family friendly activities focussing on agricultural demonstrations (seed saving, figer spinning, tomato chief, the bug man and much more in the speakers tent).
Patty grew up in Kosciusko County on a small farm on the outskirts of Pierceton. You might indirectly know her as the individual who originally had the idea to refurbish The Old Train Depot as an event center (& eatery). She is very active in Pierceton Chamber, Classic Catering and many special events in our community.
As co-owner of Classic Catering and author of the Historical Indiana Cookbook, she was a foodie long before television food channels turned the label into a popular phrase. Keeping on the cutting edge, she realized heirloom tomatos would be the upcoming food trend. Thus creating the now popular Hearloom Tomato Festival, in it's 6th season.
