Siege of Fort Wayne 1812
Saturday, June 8, 2013 from 10:00 am-7:00 pm
Sunday, June 9, 2013 from 10:00 am-4:00 pm
Be transported back in time to the 19th Century, when the second war of independence for the United States was raging. Talk with the soldiers about the life in the army; watch the tactile demonstrations of how soldiers would have either chosen to fight or to be "chivalrous" and fight another day. See the Mounted Militia as they and their horses drill. Talk with the women and the children of the Old Fort about how different life was for them compared to today. Join your children with playing games of that time period.
Admission of a free will donation is appreciated.
The Old Fort is located right over the bridge as you are going north on Spy Run Ave. You will want to go to Fourth Street and park at Lawton Park and enjoy the short stroll down the River Greenway until you reach the Fort.
