The farmstead features a working blacksmith shop, cooper shop, pioneer home, tomahawk throws and pioneer demonstrations of all kinds.
The main feature of this event is a demonstration of the nationally unique 1850 Hay Press, which is run by oxen. The demonstration, done nine days each year, takes place from 1 to 1:30 pm on Saturday & Sunday. In the event of mechanical difficulty with the 160-year old hay press, a special tour of the press, draft animals and barn is given in its place.
The Hay Press demo and living farmstead event is free of charge, the regular park gate entrance fee applies. O’Bannon Woods State Park is located 10 miles west of Corydon, Indiana on Hwy. 462, off State Highway 62.
