Day One

It was once a vacation spot for some of America's notorious such as Al Capone and influential like New York Governor and presidential candidate Alfred E. Smith. Travel south to Ferdinand and experience the Monastery Immaculate Conception. Founded in 1867, this monastery is home to one of the nation's largest communities of Benedictine women. The monastery gift shop, "For Heaven's Sake," offers handmade crafts from the sisters and other unique spiritual merchandise.
