Start your journey through northwest Indiana in Hammond at the Indiana Welcome Center. Here you can pick up attraction brochures, purchase souvenirs and visit the John Dillinger Museum. This interactive historical adventure illustrates the life and times of John Dillinger during the 1930's depression era.

Next dip your toes into the cool waters of Lake Michigan at Miller Beach. Visit the Gary Bathhouse Aquatorium, the museum home of Octave Chanute, aeronautical engineer of the 1890s (pre-Wright Brothers era). Miller Beach also offers great dining and shopping experiences. For lunch, eat at Miller Bakery Café. Delicious!

Day Two

In nearby St. John, visit Steeple Gallery. The gallery offers original fine art and antiquarian prints.

Visit the Community Veterans Memorial in nearby Munster. Built in order of WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam and Desert Storm, the memorial stands to honor those who fought for Freedom.
