Hamburger
A Appetizing 8 Sandwich
Hinkle's Sandwich Shop
A tradition in downtown Madison since 1933, Hinkle's burger is smaller than most, served with pickles and onions.
In 1933, Winfred Hinkle started serving these smaller-than-most burgers with pickles and onions. You can still order them at this low-frills restaurant in downtown Madison almost 80 years later. The place continues to be popular among locals and visitors for the food, including the home fries and milkshakes—they offer more than 40 varieties. ($1.14 for hamburger, $1.25 cheeseburger)
