Fall means apples, and that’s the perfect time to try Oliver Winery’s Beanblossom Hard Cider in original or peach. Enjoy free tastings daily at Indiana’s oldest and largest winery. On weekends, tour the production facility and take one of their special fall vineyard tours by appointment. You’re always welcome to picnic by the pond. Their biggest event of the year happens this fall with the Harvest Wine Festival on Sept. 28. It features wine tasting, live music, food trucks and winery tours.

Hoosiers can thank Oliver Winery’s founder, IU law professor William Oliver, for a lot of things. First, he enjoyed making wine in his basement and wanted to do more with his enthusiasm. He was instrumental in passing legislation that allowed for the creation of small wineries in Indiana in 1971! Now the next generation of the Oliver family continues the tradition.
