A honey of a business in Fountain Square

What’s a meadery? Well, it’s a place that makes mead, which is liquor made by fermenting honey and water. So it only makes sense that owners Brett Canaday and Tia Agnew keep bees on their family farm. They began making mead as a hobby, and now it’s their business in the historic Fountain Square Cultural District. They adhere to a strict rule of using fresh, locally grown fruit and honey, which you can enjoy as wines and hard cider in their welcoming tasting room. Try the Dry Mead with hints of clove and mineral or another honey wine accented by blueberry, peach, plumb or raspberry. One of their hard ciders celebrates Indiana’s own Johnny Appleseed; Johnny Chapman hard apple cider is sweetened with Indiana sorghum, caramel and malt notes.
