Milk Cow Music Festival at Fair Oaks Farms

by nwiltrout May 23, 2012

Fair Oaks Farms is one of my favorite Indiana pitstops, a great place to stop and take a break when on a road trip along I-65 in the northwest part of the state. While it’s an unlikely spot for family fun (its main purpose is supplying milk and other dairy products to customers all over the United States!), the [...]

Super Bowl Village Opens January 27

by nwiltrout January 2, 2012

Like many football fans around the country, Super Bowl weekend is always marked on my calendar even though I’ll likely never attend an actual game. Fortunately for me and all my fellow Hoosiers, this year the game comes to us. We may not get inside Lucas Oil Stadium for kickoff, but we can experience all [...]

Rev. Peyton’s Big Damn Band in Indy November 25

by nwiltrout November 7, 2011

One of my favorite Hoosier bands is Rev. Peyton’s Big Damn Band. Based in Brown County, Indiana, this fun-loving group brings a ton of life and energy to their unique performances. Their music is part country, part rock, and a whole lot of fun. While you’ll often catch me jamming to them in my car, nothing beats [...]

More November Fun in Brown County

by nwiltrout November 3, 2011

While the lines of traffic and herds of fall foliage seekers may have packed up and fled Brown County at the end of October, next weekend presents a great opportunity to visit this always beautiful area of Indiana. With so much on the schedule, you won’t miss the now-fading fall colors one bit! Below I’ve listed a [...]

If you want to get into the Christmas mood a little early, save a date for a trip to Kosciusko County in North Central Indiana (my old stomping grounds for about 12 years), and check out the Madrigal Dinner by the Lakes Area Players in Syracuse, Indiana. The Madrigal Dinner is held on December 2, [...]

Ethnic Expo in Columbus, Indiana October 7-8

by nwiltrout September 24, 2011

One of my favorite aspects of living in Columbus, Indiana, is the international diversity you find here. It’s very typical in any gathering of people at a public place in town to hear several languages being spoken. This diversity is primarily attributed to Columbus being the headquarters of Cummins, a Fortune 500 company that manufactures diesel [...]

I’ll Have a Side of Theatre with My Dinner

by bsmith September 16, 2011

During a visit to Poland this past year, I was fortunate to have a host with a reverent passion for classical music. He shared with my sister and I Poland’s rich musical history and the great work of Polish composer, Frédéric Chopin. This brief encounter has made me especially curious to see the Indianapolis Symphony [...]
