Brickworld Indy offers land of plenty to LEGO lovers

This morning on the way to school, my 10-year old son, with the latest LEGO® magazine on his lap, asked, “Mom, someday can we go to LEGO Land?” I told him that a trip to California may not be in our budget right now, but we can swing a trip to the Indiana State Fairgrounds for Brickworld™ this weekend — if he cleans his bedroom first.

On Saturday, March 9 and Sunday, March 10, Brickworld Indy will fill 30,000 square feet of the Agriculture/Horticulture Building at the fairgrounds in Indianapolis with LEGO® displays, interactive activities and vendors.

This is the fourth year for Brickworld Indy and it promises to not disappoint. Among the displays will be a bricked-out replica of Lucas Oil Stadium (also displayed at the Indiana State Fair last year), an M-Tron Space Station, and a 30,000-brick replica of the Cummins QSK95 diesel engine. The Cummins engine will be part of an interactive build that will take place over the two days of the spectacle.

Hours of Brickworld Indy are Saturday, March 9 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday, March 10 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Admission is $9 for adults, $6 for kids 10 and under, and free for children under 3 years old. Active duty and reserve military service members and first responders can purchase tickets for $6 with military/first responder I.D. Purchase tickets online until Friday at 8 p.m. or at the door. Please note all ticket sales at the door are cash only.

Northern Indiana LEGO aficionados will want to mark September 28-29, 2013 on their calendars, the dates when Brickworld will open in the Grand Wayne Center in Fort Wayne.
