In honor of National Peanut Butter Day I thought I would write about some conventional and not so conventional ways to enjoy this diversely used ingredient.
Northern Indiana
Downtown Chesterton near the Indiana Dunes is already preparing for March 1st. Tonya’s Patisserie will prepare peanut butter granola to enjoy on this special day just for peanut butter consumers. So it may not be the specialty but they do offer plenty alternatives if peanut butter granola doesn’t tickle your fancy.

Huntington Indiana’s very own Brick House Grill offers a long-time menu favorite, the “D-bo’s Goober Burger”. If you are the adventurous type and enjoy such a mixture of flavors why not try it.

Western Indiana
The Brick House Grill is not the only place to sink your teeth into another exciting menu item. If you have ever been to Triple XXX Family Restaurant, chances are you’ve seen this infamous burger on the menu. The Duane Purvis Burger consists of fresh ground sirloin which also happens to have peanut butter on it. Greg Ehresman, the burger’s creator shares, “You either love it or you don’t”. However, if you decide to bite into this not so average burger chances are you will not be disappointed. The creator’s key is to add just the right amount of peanut butter to compliment the smoky yet nutty flavor of the burger.

Nashville Candy Store is more than just an average candy store the tiger butter fudge which consists of vanilla fudge layered with peanut butter and topped with a drizzle of chocolate fudge which is also a best seller even if you aren’t celebrating your love of peanut butter on National Peanut Butter Day.
