‘Tis the season to start making your family’s plans to enjoy the winter holidays and Hendricks County has a long list of activities you won’t want to miss.
Returning this year as the holiday hostess with the mostess is Holly Hendricks. She is the face of the ever-popular Cookie Recipe Trail.
Visitors can stop in at 12 Hendricks County destinations to get a unique holiday cookie recipe at each location. Either scan the QR code with your smart phone or go to a designated website to snag the recipe. Cookie Recipe Trail locations include Frazee Gardens in Brownsburg, Carla’s Creations and Gifts in Danville, Katie’s Consignment in Avon and Sweetheart Cupcakes in Plainfield.

When she’s not pushing pastries, Holly Hendricks will make appearances at various holiday events across the county. Some places might find Holly include:
- Frazee Gardens Holiday Preview Night – 6-9 p.m. Nov. 15 at Frazee Gardens, 3480 N. Ind. 267, Brownsburg
- Christmas on the Square – 4-6 p.m. Nov. 23 at the Hendricks County Courthouse Square, Danville
- Tri Kappa Gingerbread Christmas – 9 a.m.-3 p.m. (though Holly will appear from 9:30-11:30 a.m.) Dec. 1 at Plainfield High School, 1 Red Pride Drive, Plainfield
If holiday lights make your season merry and bright, be sure to take in these activities:
- Metropolis Holiday Tree Lighting — 4:30 p.m. – 6 p.m. Nov. 18 in Futura Park at Metropolis in Plainfield
- Winterland Light Show — Nov. 24 – Dec. 24 at Ellis Park in Danville
- Christmas Under the Stars Parade — Dec. 1 at 6 p.m. in Brownsburg
