The extended deadline to apply for the 4th annual Rising Sun Festival of Fine Arts & Crafts is June 15.
The deadline for entry for the 2012 Rising Sun Festival of Fine Arts and Crafts has been extended until June 15. The fourth annual event will take place Sept. 15 & 16 from 10am-5pm along the scenic waterfront in downtown Rising Sun, IN.
The event supports and showcases regionally acclaimed artists by offering the public the opportunity to meet artists and to view and purchase fine art while sampling Indiana Wineries. The Rising Sun/Ohio County Tourism Commission has a goal of making their festival one of the top indoor/outdoor fine art fairs in the Southeastern region of Indiana. The festival will be held along the Ohio River in Rising Sun’s Historic Main Street District.
Applications are now being accepted through zapplication.org for juried selection. The non-refundable cost of jurying is $15. Painting, photography, sculpture, drawing, and glass are just a few of the categories available in the festival.
There will be over $8,000 in awards including a $1,500 Best of Show, and a $1,000 First Place, $700 Second Place, and $500 Third Place in 2-D, 3-D and Digital/Photography. Four $100 honorable mentions will also be awarded amongst the combined three categories.
Volunteer booth sitters, along with a Sept. 15 awards dinner, hospitality area, and music will be available during this annual Fine Arts and Crafts Festival.
