TOMS Founder Blake Mycoskie
If you have a teenager, you’ve probably heard of TOMS. The brand of shoe is popular with the youthful (and young at heart) crowd because of its philosophy as much as its style and comfort. When you purchase a pair of TOMS shoes, TOMS donates a new pair of shoes to a child in need through the company’s One for One program. TOMS Founder and Chief Shoe Giver Blake Mycoskie will be at IUPUI in Indianapolis on Monday, April 30 talking about starting TOMS and what it has taught him about business and life.
Mycoskie will speak at the downtown Indianapolis campus as a reward for the school’s win in the “One Day Without Shoes” 2011 barefoot challenge.
The event will begin at 5:00pm at the IUPUI UC Courtyard, just south of University Place Hotel. Organizers encourage people to get there early to enjoy local music and fare from one of Indy’s food trucks. Parking in the Vermont Street garage is encouraged.
