I recently learned that it’s American Craft Beer Week. Specialty beers are becoming quite a food trend these days. Perhaps it’s even moved beyond a trend and has entered the realm of classic. Either way, it’s an adult delight that can be enjoyed around the state, where you’ll find many wonderful breweries.
One of my favorites, Upland Brewing Company, is headquartered in beautiful Bloomington, Indiana. Upland features both seasonal beers and those staples that are available year-round. While you can find Upland beers in many liquor stores around the area, they also have a tasting room in Indianapolis, located at 4842 N. College Avenue. I love to sample Upland’s brews by pairing them with their amazing food at their Bloomington Brew Pub location.
You’ll find this beer paradise at 350 W. 11th Street in Bloomington. I love their Porter Roasted Turkey Salad (mostly for their homemade salad dressing), and my husband can never pass up their hearty Macaroni and Cheese. Upland also has many vegetarian choices.
If you’d like to expand your knowledge of craft beer, consider taking a tour of Upland, offered from 3-5 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday afternoon. The tour is free and ends with a sampler. Cheers!
