Indiana State Fair – August 5-21, 2011

There’s not much to do in mid-August when students are preparing to go back to school, but there is one thing that will brighten someone’s day anytime between August 5-21…that my friends is The Indiana State Fair.

Even though the Indiana State Fair is months away, it’s never to early to start thinking about all the exciting fun for all ages, whether it be to visit with all the different farm animals or ride tractors, there’s literally something for anyone.

Now, if you’ve never been to the the State Fair before, it can be kind of overwhelming. There are thousands of people there everyday. It is absolutely enormous. And there is so much to do, it’s hard to decide where to start.

So to make it easier on you all, I’m going to tell you how I would spend my day at the Indiana State Fair.

First things first, I would head straight to the food! I don’t know about you all, but I love to try unique foods, and the State Fair is definitely the place to do that. Last year I had a Krispy Kreme cheeseburger with everything on it. It definitely doesn’t sound like something a normal person would eat…and it definitely isn’t. But it was absolutely amazing!

After testing out the unique food, I would make my way to the DNR building. In this building there are all different kinds of fish, both big and small. This building also has something that you will love…AIR CONDITIONING! Who knows…you might never leave this building after stepping into it.

There are many other areas I would visit throughout the fairgrounds, but I would definitely finish off with a concert on the FREE stage. Nothing beats free!

Hopefully all of this will help you plan your trip to the Indiana State Fair. It only last 17 days and then it’s over, so make sure you get here. It doesn’t matter where you’re from. If you make the trip, you’re going to enjoy yourself!
