January’s chilly temperatures might have many of us considering hibernation until the spring thaw, but those willing to bundle up and head to Wolf Park in Battle Ground, Indiana (near Lafayette) will be rewarded by close encounters with some of the four-legged inhabitants of the park.

Howl Nights are held every Saturday from 7:30-9:00pm. Visitors to the park during these hours will have the opportunity to engage in howling good dialogue with the wolves.
A special daytime encounter is planned on Saturday, January 22. Winter Wolves will take place from 1:00-5:00pm and will feature games, crafts, discussions of wolves in the wild, and an artwork contest for kids. Warm drinks will be served throughout the afternoon.
Head out for dinner at 5:00pm and return to the park at 7:30pm for Howl Night.
