Chocolate chip artisan marshmallows from 240 Sweet
Once another lifetime ago, when I was a stay-at-home-mom, I spent one particular naptime thumbing through a Martha Stewart Living magazine. One of the recipes in that magazine was for homemade marshmallows. I remember thinking to myself, “who in the world would make their own marshmallows?” 240° Sweet, in Columbus, Indiana, that’s who.
In fact, probably not even Martha Stewart could have come up with the tasty hand-crafted artisan treats that culinary partners Alexa Lemley and Samantha Aulick routinely whip up in their kitchen. The large, square mallows are made with local, all-natural and organic ingredients and are available in over 70 flavors. The flavor of the month for November is Turkey with Sage Dressing.
Personally, I wouldn’t touch it. I prefer my confectionary treats to taste more like a dessert than an entree. Give me Chocolate Chip, Peppermint, Very Vanilla Bean or even Salty Caramel Swirl. If you are more adventurous than I am, you might consider Bacon Maple and Toffee, Avocado and Lime, or Chocolate Chipotle. You can eat 240° Sweet marshmallows right out of the bag (they come in packages of 3) or include them in delectable recipes available on the website.
Find 240° Sweet marshmallows at a variety of retailers in Central Indiana or online at 24oSweet.com. And if you’ve tasted Turkey with Sage Dressing, please leave a comment to tell me how it was, really.
240° Sweet is a member of Indiana Artisan and you could win a 240° Sweet marshmallow variety box (valued at $120) for yourself or someone else by entering our Made in Indiana. Given by You. contest. Click here to enter to win!
