The Indiana Insider Blog

So you think there’s more to Indiana than corn?

Well, there’s popcorn! Growing up in Indiana, I’m use to a cornfield as the daily landscape. Yes, I know what corn detasseling is. (Corn detasseling? Check it out here.) So it is only natural that Indiana is a leader in popcorn. Several big name popcorn distributors are headquartered in Indiana.

Not Just Popcorn

Not Just Popcorn; Edinburgh, IN

One of my favorite gift to give is flavored popcorn. For my salty friend, how about dill pickle or blooming onion? My sweet friend? Key lime pie or green apple should do the trick. Chocolate Lover? Maybe double dip caramel and peanut butter cup? Hungry yet? Fortunately, there is a quick fix for you.

As soon as you step in the door at Not Just Popcorn in the little town of Edinburgh, IN, your senses will thank you for this heavenly gift.  The little shop smells of sweet fresh popcorn that makes your mouth water and stomach growl.  With hundreds of flavors, Not Just Popcorn has the perfect flavor for your friends and family and you too! Plus, the friendly staff will let you try any flavor to make sure you get the right flavor for your special gift.

Butler Tin

My Butler tin filled with caramel corn!

I have one of the popcorn tins (Butler theme, of course!) that I can take back as often as I like to be refilled. Each time I bring it in I get half off the popcorn and my roommates love when they see me grab the tin on the weekends I go home to Columbus. This past weekend I brought back a fall time favorite, caramel corn with peanuts. Delicious! Not Just Popcorn has a lot of sizes and designs of tins so you can find your perfect match.

Edinburgh, for those of you who do not know, is about 10 minutes north of downtown Columbus in Johnson County. Visitors may be more familiar with the Edinburgh Premium Outlet Mall of major brand outlet stores like Banana Republic, Coach, Calvin Klein and Polo Ralph Lauren.

So the next time you are shopping at the Edinburgh Outlet Mall, take a 5 minute drive up to the actual town of Edinburgh and stop in (or pop in!) at Not Just Popcorn. You won’t regret it and your taste buds will love you!
