Fiesta: A Night of Cultural Immersion in Downtown Indy

The 30th Annual Fiesta, sponsored by La Plaza, was held Saturday, September 18 in downtown Indianapolis. Unfortunately, I was unable to go this year, but I have experienced this event the two previous years.

It is free to attend Fiesta, which is great for college students or anyone watching their wallet. The food is mouth watering, and the music makes you want to dance.

The first time I attended Fiesta, I was a freshman in college and my Butler University had a shuttle that took students to and from downtown that night. The next year, I made it a point to return and eat some more carne asada and churros (both of which I highly recommend).

Even if you don’t want to dance, the music and other stage performances provide great entertainment for while you are eating, walking around, or shopping at the many booths stationed around the American Legion Mall.

Fiesta is great for friends and families, and you should be sure to attend next year.
