The Headless Horseman is returning to Conner Prairie in October (15 – 17, 21 – 24, 28 – 30), but you can buy the hotly anticipated tickets starting September 27. According to the CP press release I just received, that gives you about 5 days to get ready. This has always been a popular event for the Smithsonian affiliate museum that tickets go fairly quickly.
They will host guests and visitors to their regular Halloween program, including a haunted hayride with the Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow, ghost storytelling, puppet shows, glow in the dark games and activities, and a showing of Disney’s “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” a movie that scared me so bad when I was a kid, I couldn’t sleep without the lights on for a week.
A new addition to their program this year will allow guests to learn how to create movie makeup from the pros at Hugabug, and to get a closer look at “creepy animals” thanks to the animal wranglers at Animalia. They will also let guests ride the 1859 Balloon Voyage, as long as weather permits. This may be a better option for their more nervous visitors, since every knows that the Headless Horseman can’t fly, and nobody can hurl a pumpkin head 350 feet straight up, so you’ll be safe.
Special programs and features include*:
