and anyone else who loves apple-icious treats. The Conner Prairie Apple Store will open for its 25th season on Wednesday, September 1.
Operated annually by the Conner Prairie Alliance, a nonprofit women’s volunteer organization, the Apple Store will be open through October 31. Store hours will be Tuesdays – Sundays, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., during Marsh Symphony on the Prairie performances Sept. 2 – 5, and evenings during the Headless Horseman in October. Admission to Conner Prairie is not required to visit the Apple Store. All proceeds benefit various Conner Prairie educational programs.
Visitors to the Apple Store will find:
- fresh, hand-dipped caramel apples
- apple cider slushies
- apple donuts
- hot apple cider
- a large variety of bag-your-own local apples
In 2009, Apple Store volunteers dipped more than 14,000 caramel apples and served 4,000 apple cider slushies!
The store will also sell Indiana popcorn, Amish goods, gourmet dog treats and seasonal gifts. Those who visit on opening day will enjoy historic apple butter demonstrations from 1 – 4 p.m., free samples, and a 15 percent discount on all purchases.
