See Exotic Felines in Western Indiana

Big cats like lions and tigers truly are majestic creatures, and the Exotic Feline Rescue Center is one of the country’s largest big cat rescue centers, housing more than 200 exotic felines. The EFRC’s mission is to:

…provide permanent homes for exotic felines that have been abused, abandoned or for some reason have nowhere to live out their lives, while educating the public about these beautiful cats.

Located just 25 miles east of Terre Haute (about 70 miles west if Indianapolis), you have the opportunity to see upwards of 200 wild cats at the rescue center. It’s open to the public every Tuesday-Sunday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Regular admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under. You can also order admission tickets online (small convenience charge applies).

The EFRC is hosting a Spring Fling event on Saturday, April 17th from Noon to 3:00pm. For just $10 apiece for kids 12 and under and $20 each for adults, you can see some of the big cats that aren’t a part of the regular tour, as well as a tour of the on-site veterinary clinic. Remember, as a non-profit organization, the admission fees go to help keep the place running.

You can even rent a cabin on the property and wake up to the felines right outside your front door (behind fencing, of course).

Guest quarters are available to house two adults (no children or pets for overnight stays). Two all day passes and going with the keepers to our two areas not open to the public are included. The room has a private entrance, bathroom with shower and tub, queen size bed, microwave, refrigerator, coffee pot with coffee and tea provided, direct TV and access to wireless internet.  The best part is being able to look out the window and watch big cats.
