Cupcake me!

What’s all the rage in baked goods? Cupcakes!

Cupcake bakeries are popping up all over Indiana. If you’re headed to Indianapolis for the Final Four this weekend, be sure to stop by The Flying Cupcake’s new location on Mass Ave. in downtown Indianapolis, or visit the original shop at 56th and Illinois Street on the city’s northside.

What’s so special about a cupcake? These are not your grandmother’s cupcakes. These are heavenly, decadent, works of confectionary art.

Here’s what we had last week:

You’re looking at Razzamatazz (chocolate and raspberry topped with raspberry buttercream), Red Velvet Elvis (red velvet with chocolate chunks topped with cream cheese icing), and The Bee’s Knees (light honey pear cupcake scented with ginger and topped with honey buttercream).

Other Indiana cupcakeries include:

  • Holy Cow Cupcakes (Carmel)
  • The Cupcake Camper (Noblesville)
  • Cupcake Cafe (Solsberry)
  • Caboodle Cupcakes (Terre Haute)
  • Sweet (Evansville)
