First Friday Arts & Community Events in Vevay, IN

Since I live in Central Indiana, I’m a big fan of the First Friday art events around downtown Indianapolis. I never miss a month. But I’m going to have to one of these times, because Vevay (Switzerland County) has their very own First Friday events. My friend, Kendal Miller, PR Coordinator for Switzerland County, assures me this is a great time to see what Vevay, Indiana has to offer.

(Actually, says Kendal, any day is a great day to see what Vevay has to offer.)

The first Friday of every month, Vevay stays open late for visitors and residents alike. The stores and restaurants will remain open, there is usually live entertainment (especially at the Hoosier Theatre), the art galleries will have special showings, and some of the artists will be on hand for live demonstrations. And there are even free horse-drawn carriage tours around town.

First Friday in Vevay runs from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

They’ll even be doing First Friday on January 1, 2010. The theme is “The Blue Hour.”

I already have a pass for a free night at the Ogle Haus/Best Western, after serving as a celebrity grape stomper at the Swiss Wine Festival, so I’m going to try to shoot for a night in the Springtime so I can hit the First Friday event as well. I hope to see you there.
