I had a great time with my three year old son, Nicholas, and some good friends at Stonycreek Farm in Noblesville on a recent Saturday. It was a gorgeous fall day, with blue skies and a little chill in the air. It was perfect for taking a hayride to the pumpkin patch. The pumpkin patch is nestled in with the Christmas trees and was very picturesque.
Stonycreek Farm had a good selection of pumpkins with lots to choose from. Most were traditional orange but there were also some Martha Stewart-ish white and dark green ones. We picked our pumpkins then headed back to the farm.
Nicholas and Clay, our 11-year-old friend, had a blast bouncing on a big inflatable toy. It looked a bit like an ice skating rink with a domed top. They also tried out the inflatable Caterpillar – it was a hit with Nicholas. He crawled through it, sliding down the slides and climbing over walls.
We wrapped up the day with Nicholas’s first pony ride. We headed out with a trunk full of pumpkins and a happy little boy sleeping in his car seat.
