Fall is harvest time and one thing I look forward to every year it apple picking time. I love going to the orchard and picking my favorite apple right off the tree. It’s great to do with kids.
And now a lot of orchards have a lot more than just apples – they have hayrides, pumpkin patches, corn mazes and more.
So, to help you find the nearest U-pick apple orchard, here’s a rundown of the Apple Orchards of Northwest Indiana.
Garwood Orchard
Garwood Orchards & Farm Market is located near LaPorte, IN. Approximately 75 minutes east of downtown Chicago, IL and 50 minutes west of downtown South Bend

Radke Orchard
Radke’s Orchards is located in Michigan City, Indiana just minutes away from I-94 (exit 34A) and I-80/90 (exit 40).
Mowry’s Fruit Farm
Take I-65 to exit 247 the Crown Point exit. Turn right off the exit onto
St Rd 231 towards Hebron. Drive east approximately 1 ½ miles to the flashing yellow light. Turn left onto Iowa Street. Follow Iowa Street approximately 2 ½ miles; going through the 4 say stop, to the entrance to the farm (red building) on right.
