144 Indiana miles of yard sale

The National Historic Road Yard Sale, which takes place along U.S. 40, gets underway today and runs through Sunday, May 31. At 824 miles and running from Baltimore to St. Louis, it is the longest continuous yard sale in the country. Indiana touts 144 miles of U.S. 40 — plenty of space for bargains and antique finds galore!

Antique hounds may wish to focus their search in the Wayne County towns of Richmond, Knightstown, Centerville and Cambridge City which combined boast more than 900 dealers. Click here for a map of these locations along National Road. Click here for a map of U.S. 40 across the state from Terre Haute to Richmond.

The weather in Indiana should be mostly sunny this weekend, so don’t forget your sunscreen! For other must-have items before you hit the sale trail, check out this list of Yard Sale Survival Kit items.

Now in its sixth year, the National Historic Road Yard Sale was the brainchild of Dublin, Indiana antique dealer Patricia McDaniel of The Old Storefront.
