Spend the day at Karst Farm Park in Bloomington

You know it’s love when I spent my Mother’s Day at a soccer field about an hour and a half from my house. It wasn’t too much of a sacrifice. The weather was beautiful, Charlie’s team won and I became familiar with Karst Farm Park, a great park in Bloomington.

Often, soccer tournaments are held on former farm fields with very little shade or other activities for the siblings who have to tag along. Not so at Karst Farm. There were playgrounds, plenty of shade and great paths on which to bike, roller blade or skateboard.

In fact, the next time we have a soccer game at Karst Farm, I’ll look into reserving one of the seven shelters  available for rent so we can have a team picnic after the game.

Other activities available for people to enjoy at Karst Farm Park include a 9-hole frisbee golf course, a gated dog park where your pooch can pal around with its canine companions, and opening August 1, 2009 a wheelchair accessible, multi-sensory Playscape complete with a water feature.

Ready to check it out? From Highway 37, go west on Highway 45 (2nd St.). Turn right on Airport Road, then turn right on Endwright Road. The entrance to the park is on the left. Click here for a map.
