Salmon Fishing in Indiana?

Yes, it happens in Indiana, fall means salmon fishing in northwest Indiana streams (Lake, LaPorte, Porter and St. Joseph counties). The fishing will be great by late September as the creeks cool and increased upstream migration to spawning beds occurs.

Tips: Dawn & dusk are prime times to wet a line, watch for deep gravel pools just downstream and small spinners and spawn bags generally produce the best catches.

For more information, see Department of Natural Resources’ Recreation & Fishing Guide.
