It’s Strassenfest time! Held July 31-August 3 (this year), this massive street fair celebrates the Jasper‘s German heritage. The Bier Garden serves a variety of brew steins, there are brat eating competitions and all (including kids) can dance the polka to live accordion music.
This is a great festival, but if you miss it definitely go and try out The Schnitzelbank! A Jasper icon since the early 1960s, this authentic German restaurant serves up hearty helpings of sauerkraut balls, potato pancakes and turnip kraut.
