Travel + Leisure Magazine just came out with their list of 50 Reasons to Love the U.S.A. Now, and Indiana made the list!

The Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore is one of the Midwest’s 15 places to love, with Travel + Leisure calling the dunes “The Midwest’s answer to Cape Cod“. With 15,000 acres (2,182 of which are in the DNR-run Indiana Dunes State Park) and 15 miles of beautiful Lake Michigan Shoreline, the Dunes are a great place for a close-to-home getaway.

With gas prices as high as they are, why travel to Florida for the beach when beautiful Lake Michigan sits on Indiana’s Northwest border just a few short hours from anywhere in Indiana? Plus, Lake Michigan is a fresh-water lake, so you won’t get a mouth full of seawater!

In Indiana, this is a Summer to Celebrate, and the Indiana Dunes are a perfect place to do so!
