Things to Know

• The Indiana State Fair Board has voted to extend the Fair dates beginning in 2009. This is only a three-year commitment - the Fair Board will evaluate the success of the expanded dates before committing beyond 2011.
• The Indiana State Fair may close one day during the 17-day time period for clean up. This final decision will be made in the upcoming months after analysis of staff and programming issues.
• Exhibitors are not going to be asked to stay longer to compete at the Indiana State Fair. The intent is not to lengthen shows, but to bring more events inside the Fair dates.
• The Indiana State Fair Board will create later check-in times with county fairs whose ending dates overlap with the new State Fair dates.
• All traffic flow, unloading/loading patterns and ticketing issues are being examined for exhibitors.
