The Barn

Take-Out-Garden presented by INShape Indiana

Visitors to the Indiana State Fair Greenhouse and participants in the fall State’s Largest Classroom tours received Take Out Gardens in 2012. These small to go containers are filled with everything needed to plant your own garden at home or school. Fairgoers could select from one of several gardens including: Pizza Garden, Taco Garden, Salad Garden, Indiana Garden, Flower Garden, Herb Garden and Root Garden. State’s Largest Classroom participants received Pizza Gardens. In addition to the appropriate seeds for the type of garden it is, the container also has peat pellets to get the seeds started.

Check back often to learn more about how to plant the gardens at home or at school once spring arrives. Until then the containers should be kept in a cool place. For general information on gardening please reference the links below.
