The state's employee premiums make high-quality medical coverage affordable. Medical plans include two consumer-driven health plans (CDHPs) with an accompanying Health Savings Account (HSA) and one Preferred Provider Organization (Trad PPO) plan. The state contributes to the premiums for vision and dental, enabling all employees to participate. Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) are also available providing the opportunity to set aside pre-tax dollars for reimbursement of qualified medical and/or dependent care expenses. Group term insurance is available up to 150 percent of salary. Supplemental plans are available as well as dependent life coverage. The state also shares the cost for your participation in the Short/Long Term Disability Benefits plan.
We help you prepare for life after your career by offering an excellent retirement plan, which the state pays 100 percent of the cost. In addition, employees may participate in the Hoosier S.T.A.R.T., 457 and 401(a) plans which offer public employees an excellent way to save for their retirement through tax deferred contributions.
The state offers direct deposit of your payroll checks and deposits to your eligible Health Savings Account (HSA).
