Topic: Information on scheduling tests for employees who were absent the day testing occurred.

Employees selected for alcohol and/or drug testing in the random selection shall be tested even if absent the day testing occurred. The only exception to this policy is if an employee does not return before the next random selection.

The designated employer representative (DER) who knows the absent employee was selected to be tested shall keep such information confidential. Once the absent employee returns to work, the DER shall contact the employee and provide the employee a collection kit, off-site collection form (provided in the form section) and instructions on what collection site to use (see list). The employee is to drive straight to the collection site, participate in the draw and immediately return to work.

It is very important to provide the employee a collection kit and off-site collection form.

If you have any questions, please contact Midwest Toxicology at 1-800-358-8450 or State Personnel Department at 317/232-3080.
