Automobile Dealer Services

    Automobile Dealer Affidavit (21 Day Title Law)

    Indiana Code 9-17-3-3 requires a dealer to issue a title to the purchaser at the time of the sale. However if the vehicle dealer is unable to deliver the title at the time of the sale, the dealer is subject to the following civil penalties:


    • One hundred dollars ($100.00) for the first violation.
    • Two hundred dollars ($200.00) for the second violation.
    • Five hundred dollars ($500.00) for all subsequent violations.

    These payments shall be made to the Bureau and deposited in the State general fund.
