Enforcement Attorney, Prosecution Assistance Unit
Diana Moers serves as an attorney for the Prosecution Assistance Unit – an arm of the Indiana Securities Division which aids prosecutors around Indiana in the prosecution of violations of the Indiana Securities and Loan Broker Acts. Additionally, Moers is an enforcement attorney for the division – a branch of the Indiana Secretary of State’s office charged with overseeing the state’s investment and financial protection industry. Upon consultation with local prosecutor’s offices, Moers is available and may be sworn in as a deputy prosecutor within multiple jurisdictions to handle cases developed by the Indiana Securities Division.
An Evansville native, Moers received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and minor in International Studies from Indiana University. Moers continued her education at the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan where she received her Juris Doctor degree.
Before joining the Securities Division, Moers served as an assistant state’s attorney in the Will County State’s Attorney’s office in Joliet, Illinois where she handled a range of misdemeanor and felony criminal cases and discovered her passion for trial work. Prior to her position as an assistant state’s attorney, Moers worked for two Illinois law firms as an associate attorney and assistant prosecutor. Her work with Massucci, Blomquist, & Brown, and Alfred D. Stavros & Associates included aiding in the prosecution of traffic and criminal cases as well as criminal defense and civil litigation. Prior to her work in the Chicagoland area, Moers also worked as an assistant public defender to the Chief Deputy Felony Defender in Washtenaw County, Michigan.
